Banana Camo--te kyu street.

BaC street is located just a block away from Holy Trinity Parish Church, 5 steps from the Junction of Velarde and romualdez streets.

BaC street has been serving Alangalanganons Banana and Camote snacks and sometimes people from other towns for quite some years now. The BaC street girls, lady, women and man opens from morning to afternoon, Sunday to Saturday. Saturday to Flyday. :D Happily skewering those tasty Pinoy snacks.

The Banana and Camote they use are delivered by small scale farmers, Guaranteeing the organicity of the raw Banana and Camote. According to Ate eM, a jolly vendor, the farmers are happy because they can  generate money from their Camote and Banana. Before when there was no BaC street they just plant enough for them to last through the scarcity of the planting season. Now, given the area to drop their harvest, they grow and farm more.

Even the Coconut shell, the Fuel they use, are delivered by the local farmers. It is really nice to think that this BaC street secretly helps low-income generating families and giving Alangalang some sort if Identity. Jaro is for espasol, Tunga is for Chicharon, Carigara is for pastillas, Dagami is for Binagol, Alangalang is BaC street. Sana :D

by the way, As of now they are vending:

Turon / Banana Lumpia

Second Scoop. Was busy eating turon. :D

Camote Cue
Alamat ng kamote

Banana Cue

And that is everyday of the week, continuously supplying freshly cooked Pinoy snacks. They are also planning to add more Pinoy Goodies, The Maruya/baduya and the Ginanggang/ Dangdang Cue. I hope they soon serve their plan because I dearly miss Dangdang Cue.

(If you are wondering what the heck is  BaC, well,  a time ago I didnt know the street so I named the street BaC street - Banana and Camote Street.)

Since we like it Hot, we often come here to buy our merienda, my lola personally loves their turon and so do I. I lawv how a crunch is produced everytime I bite a skewered lumpia. The crunchiness  of the lumpia wrapper combined with the softness and sweetness of the banana. uhhmm nom nom. Pagkaswabe la!

Just a thought:

  • If the Banana chips of San Vicente turned into success , I wonder if the BaC vendors would sell those too.
  • And would it be nice if a BaC Native chow house would be created? Giving students ,travelers, and people of Alangalang a place to socially savor their chosen delicacy. I think they should, after all they are paying 20 pesos a day for their stand.

With ready to eat healthy Pinoy snack at the price of 5 peso each, Snacking Banana and Camote at alangalang is definitely fun.
